Last Saturday Melbourne designer Alabama Blonde presented her Collection Du Mal at Old Melbourne Gaol, an impressive show reminiscent of the goth vampire prom ball of your wildest dreams. In amongst the cells that previously housed Melbourne’s felons there was a sense of eeriness, of forgotten memories and wasted years. A nostalgic collection featured club-kid designed attire, pro-nude silhouettes and a sexy range of textiles including satins, velvets, lace, PVC and chains to fulfil your every fabric-touching fantasy. With a repertoire this deadly divine, Alabama Blonde might just find some fashion-conscious spirits coming forward to pay her showroom a visit.
