Billie Jacobina is an extremely talented fashion graduate from UCA Rochester in the U.K. She recently was a recipient of the British Council Residency Award, which gave her the opportunity to travel to Indonesia to produce a capsule collection in conjunction with local designers, craftspeople and universities. The winners collaborated with Indonesian brands who are working to ethically reinvent traditional textiles and cultural heritage.

Billie worked closely with designer label Lekat – a traditional brand using handwoven materials from Baduy. The collaboration celebrates the beauty of difference and tolerance, and was inspired by two different Indonesian folklore; Putro Mandalike and Nyi Roro Kidul. The collection is translated through Lekat’s edgy designs and Billie’s bold prints.
