TAYLOR ALXNDR is a DIY synth-pop musician based in Atlanta, GA. She’s a self-taught producer, songwriter, creative director, and figurehead of the burgeoning queer art and drag scene that has been taking Atlanta by storm for the past decade.

Mixing social commentary with dancefloor-ready rhythms, ALXNDR’s sound has permeated her local DIY scene and landed her opening spots for the likes of King Princess and Junglepussy. She’s the co-founder and executive director of Southern Fried Queer Pride, a queer and trans arts and advocacy organization led by Black and brown folks to uplift Southern queer art and culture.

About HOLOGRAM & “Signal”:
ALXNDR self-released her debut album HOLOGRAM in November of 2019. The six-song set is a bombastic collection built around identity politics, social commentary, the internet, and the need to connect to the world we live in. Chad Radford of Creative Loafing Atlanta says, “The album radiates with bright synth-pop flourishes built around lyrical themes of perception, the role that technology plays in (mis)communication, and the importance of rising above societal dissonance.” Jes Skolnik of Bandcamp says, “This is multifaceted, personal pop, designed for community healing but free of grating platitudes.”

‘Signal’ is the second single from HOLOGRAM. The music video was shot at Mary’s, a queer bar in East Atlanta Village – ALXNDR’s home bar which has produced the likes of Violet Chachki, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7, and Biqtch Puddin, winner of Dragula Season 2. ‘Signal’, the song, details a lost connection with a potential love, while the video takes that loss to the dancefloor. Filmed by Jamee Cornelia, with heavy bisexual lighting and drama, dancing alone in a empty is sometimes the only way to get thru the heartbreak.
