ZEF: Exploring the South African Style Inspired by Yolandi

‘ZEF’ was inspired by the style of Yolandi Visser, the front lady of South African rap-rave group Die Antwoord. ‘Zef’ describes a slang word in Afrikaans that roughly translates to “uncool”, “disgusting”, “gross” or “trashy”. The culture is that you literally don’t care what anyone else thinks of you. Through this fashion editorial that features zef style clothing, the team presented a trashy, colourful, weird aesthetic where there are no rules and anything goes.
