THE RISING BELGIAN ARTISTS CROSS BOUNDARIES BETWEEN TRANCE, HYPERPOP, AND GABBER IN “DIE IN THIS MOMENT”
Belgian creative duo, Promis3, have been taking the hyper-pop world by storm over the last two years. Known for their avant-garde approach to contemporary pop music, the artists have homed a futuristic sound that takes inspiration from European club, as well as queer culture. With their next release, “Die in This Moment,” premiering on July 7, Promis3 once again take listeners on a journey, this time through one of rebirth, in which they push for the boundaries between (retro)Trance, Hyperpop, and Gabber.
On the message behind the single, the artists proclaim: The song explores the rebirth of oneself to become something greater. The journey to success in any shape or form will always be accompanied by risks and dangers. To get lost in the process or to get dragged to the bottom of the ocean while searching for that higher self or purpose is often a given. However, as death will always bring new life, so can the “breakdown” of an artist bring new and better ideas, personas, and music. Like a snake shedding its skin.
“Imagine that moment where one experiences an ultimate high or reaches their supreme goal, that moment where you can confidently leave everything behind and undergo rebirth”.
Never failing in their pursuit to elevate their creative output, “Die in This Moment” delivers an ode to the 2000s with an array of euphoric trance synths, a distinctive psy-trance-influenced drop, whilst their distinctive warped vocals take center stage, showcasing an ability to create fictional landscapes that bring their stories to life.
“Die in This Moment” is accompanied by a beautifully shot editorial and visualizer (the 2nd of a trilogy) photographed and directed by Lennert Madou, a fellow creative within the LGBTQ+ community in Antwerp. Both visuals display Promis3 in garments created by lead singer, Brent and designer Jaimy Aris D’Hont, who both tirelessly worked for months to fulfill their vision. Such an action encompasses the mindset behind Promis3 and the emphasis they place on the visual arts.
“Die in This Moment” represents the starting point of what looks set to be a huge year for Promis3. With multiple singles on the way that develop their unique brand of hyper-pop further, as well as recent performances alongside Ascendant Vierge, Catnapp, Cobrah, and Mykki Blanco. The artists have plenty of reasons to be excited as this summer they’ll be playing at Luxembourg LGBTQIA+ pride and Belgium’s highly acclaimed Dour festival alongside heavyweighters Dorian Electra, Shygirl, and Boy George.
The world had better prepare to hear the sound of the future.
